Workshop Title: ‘Irish Father's Parenting Experiences with their Disabled Child, an Exploratory Study’.

Presenter: Aidan Cooney.
Presentation: Aidan is a previous graduate of UCC and was student representative on the IASW national executive. Aidan is completing a postgraduate Msc in King's College Institute of Psychiatry, with his PHD study focusing on the above topic. This presentation will be an exploration on gender absence in empirical Social Work studies which relate to families parenting experiences with disabled child. This presentation will also aim to address a gendered occupational view of men and caring among Social Workers.
