Social Workers Questions to Candidates(Feb 2011)

Dear members,

We have had an amazing response to our invitation to members to send us their suggestions about social worker concerns or questions to put to candidates and canvassers in the General Election Campaign 2011. Thank you very much for your positive and prompt response. As you can see on the attached sheets, the concerns represent issues that are emerging for social workers from a wide variety of agency settings. The questions included in the attachment do not necessarily reflect official policy of the IASW – policies are established by the Executive, Council and motions carried at the AGM of the IASW. However as a support for members wishing to put some questions to candidates and canvassers in the course of the General Election Campaign, we thought you might find some helpful ideas in the concerns and questions below.

It would be helpful if you could let us know about the responses to your questions at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

You could print the attachment and place it in an easy to find place near your front door for the next time a canvasser knocks.

Regards,

Declan Coogan,

Communications Co-ordinator, IASW
