The National Social Work Qualifications Board - DISSOLVED 31st March 2011 PDF Print E-mail

The NSWQB will be dissolved from 31 March 2011 when its functions will cease.   

The NSWQB status as a competent authority in accordance with EU Directive 2005/36/EC  transfers to the Social Workers Registration Board at CORU/Health and Social Care Professionals Council from the 10 March 2011.   

Please see below for the new arrangements in relation to the accreditation of Non-National Qualifications.  

Accreditation of Non-National Qualifications

The status of the NSWQB as the competent authority in accordance with EU Directive 2005/36/EC for the profession of social work will transfer to the Social Workers Registration Board from 10 March 2011.  In preparation for a seamless transfer from the existing organisation to the new organisation applicants seeking recognition of their social work qualifications are advised as follows;

New Applicants

  • From the 10 March 2011 all new applications should be sent to CORU at 13-15 The Mall, Beacon Court, Sandyford, Dublin 18.

Existing Applicants

Applications made up to the 9 March 2011 to the NSWQB will continue to be processed in accordance with NSWQB policies and procedures.
