Call for submissions for the IASW National Social Work Conference 2016

Promoting Best Practice in Social Work Supervision - Friday 17th June 2016 in Croke Park

Please note that submissions for oral presentation need to relate to the conference theme. However, poster presentations do not have to relate to the conference theme and can relate to any area of research carried out by you/your team within your professional role as a social worker (practitioner research). 

You can submit for both oral and poster presentation.

 

ORAL PRESENTATION

You are invited to submit an abstract for an oral presentation of research in which you/your team/your organisation were involved, or research which you carried out independently for an academic award which relates to the conference theme. Research studies such as evaluations or audits will also be welcomed. The time allocated for each presentation will be 10 minutes.  Details of Title, Author/s and Abstract should be completed using the abstract template on the conference event page at www.iasw.ie

Oral submissions must be received by Wednesday, 11th May 2016. Limited number of slots available.

POSTER PRESENTATION

Posters must be original research or report on a topic can relate to any area of research carried out by you/your team within your professional role as a social worker (practitioner research). We would also welcome submissions from social work students

Size: All posters are required to conform to PORTRAIT ORIENTATION. Failure to follow this requirement will mean that the poster will NOT FIT on the allotted board. Poster Board dimensions = 1 m wide x 2.25 m high. If printing on one page, use size A0 PORTRAIT ORIENTATION (0.84 x 1.19 m)

Poster submissions must be received by Wednesday, 11th May 2016. Send to cpdofficer@iasw.ie

If you would like your poster displayed on the IASW website after the conference please send a pdf copy with your submission before the conference date.  

Selection and Notification

Acceptance of submissions will be notified by email. This notice will be sent to the lead author.

Conference Registration

At least one author of accepted presentations must register for the conference. Presenters are responsible for expenses such as travel, registration fees.

Details of Title, Author/s and Abstract should be completed using the abstract template on the conference event page at www.iasw.ie.
