ICSWA Training; 'A birth mother's journey after reunion. Sustaining and maintaining an ongoing relationship.'

11:00 -12:30

Online

I hope you have had a good break over Christmas and are ready to launch into our first training session for 2024. As a follow on from Donna Shield's presentation that highlighted the often fragile relationships that develop after a reunion we are now going  to take this a step further and examine some of the challenges that arise which make this relationship more volatile and difficult to negotiate and differentiates it from a parent child relationship where the child grows up in the family home.  To do this we are welcoming back Eithne Ring author of 'Does my son take Sugar?' to talk to us about what this is meant for her as a birth mother as she developed an ongoing relationship with her son with whom she was reunited in 2008.  Eithne is hoping to add some further chapters to her book to encompass some of her thoughts and observations on this topic.. Our first session will be  Eithne's presentation while the second will be questions and answers when you will be invited to actively participate.  On this occasion we may finish earlier than is normal practice and conclude at 12 30pm

Our programme will be  as follows

11:00am to 11: 45 am   Presentation by Eithne Ring birth mother and author of 'Does my son Eat Sugar?

11: 45 am to 12 :30pm   Question and Answer time
