6th September 2018
As you are aware HIQA and the Mental Health Commission (MHC) have developed Draft national standards for adult safeguarding. HIQA and the MHC recognise the importance of increasing the quality and safety of services for all adults in Ireland, especially those who may be at risk of harm arising from abuse, exploitation and neglect.
This is a reminder that there are 2 weeks remaining to submit your feedback on these Draft national standards for adult safeguarding. Please click here to visit the consultation page and make your submission. Please circulate this to your colleagues and anyone you think may be interested in making a submission to the consultation.
You can hear what people who promote the rights, health and wellbeing of adults have to say about the role of national standards for adult safeguarding in preventing and responding to harm in these two short videos What can standards do to safeguard people? and How can we work to safeguard people?
Feedback will be accepted until 5pm on Wednesday 19 September 2018. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to accept late submissions. The consultation form can be submitted online or can be downloaded and either emailed or posted to us.
Thank you to everyone who has submitted their feedback so far.
If you have any queries about the Public Consultation, please contact standards@hiqa.ie.
